What is Lift Heavy Love Dogs?
We absolutely love dogs here at Tucson Strength and over the years we’ve collaborated with The Sanctuary Project, a local Tucson dog rescue, to save the lives of these precious pups. It is heartbreaking what we are seeing on a daily basis in our shelters. Too many innocent pups are being put down at no fault of their own.
To help The Sanctuary Project rescue dogs scheduled for euthanasia, we’ve put together a fun strength circuit accessible to competition for many. All registration fees and proceeds collected from this event will go directly to The Sanctuary Project! We know how many people love dogs and want to help, so this will be a great event open to all.
TSP is a local dog rescue composed of a network of foster families around the state dedicated to rescuing high-risk dogs from death row. They fully support each animal in their network with food, veterinary care, and anything else the pup needs, such as socialization training or assistive devices. Every penny collected through fundraising and donations goes directly to the animals. No one on their staff pulls a paycheck; it is 100% run by volunteers. This means when you donate money to them, it goes directly to food, neutering, vaccinations, or any other need the dogs may have. Many times TSP depends on immediate donations to address medical emergencies of the animals in their care.
The Event
Saturday, January 18 at Tucson Strength from 10am – 1pm (arrive at 10:00am for registration; we’ll start running the circuit at 10:30am)
We’ve put together a timed strength circuit in three division: novice, men, or women
- 40 yard Sled Drag
- OPEN Division men 315 lbs, women 225 lbs
- MASTERS Division – Men 265lbs, Women 185lbs
- NOVICE Division- 135b
- 40 yard Sled Push
- OPEN Division men 175 lbs, women 135 lbs
- MASTERS Division men 135lbs, women 85
- NOVICE Dividions 65lbs
- 40 yard Farmers Carry
- OPEN Division men 160 lbs, women 106 lbs
- MASTERS Division 141lbs, 88lbs
- NOVICE 70lbs
The fastest time in each division with the prescribed weights wins a prize.
Cost of Entry
We are asking $55 to enter the event. All participants get a Lift Heavy Love Dogs t-shirt. We’ll also have a raffle with tickets available for cash purchase at the event and extra t-shirts for sale!
All proceeds from this event go directly to The Sanctuary Project.
